Hygiene and Gum Treatments

Prevention is the key to success! We are often able to effectively treat problems before emergencies occur through regular cleanings and gum treatments.

Regular maintenance is essential to proper oral health and overall health.

Gum disease is the most common chronic inflammatory condition in the world, yet it is often a silent disease. Why? The mouth can act as a portal of entry for infection. Ongoing inflammation in your mouth can allow bacteria to enter the bloodstream, which may lead to more inflammation in other parts of your body, such as your heart.

Rootcanal-1

Root Canal Treatment

Despite what you may have heard or read, the goal of a root canal isn't to cause pain. Instead, the goal of the procedure is to save a tooth that is infected.

Usually, a root canal is needed when there is an infection deep within the tooth. The inside of the tooth can become infected with bacteria because of an injury, or because of a large, untreated cavity. Left untreated, the infection can progress to the point where the tooth has to be removed. Although we recognize that root canals are no fun, our office uses the latest techniques and technology to make your visit as comfortable as possible.

Ribbon-Cancer (2)

Oral Surgery/Extractions

Our ultimate goal is to save teeth. However, there are circumstances in which there is too much damage for a tooth to be fixed. In these situations, the tooth may need to be extracted — or removed.

If you are facing a tooth extraction, it can seem a little daunting and nerve-wracking. But did you know that tooth extraction is a fairly standard dental procedure? We are here to help answer all your questions, and make your experience as pleasant as possible.

Sedation (Laughing Gas)

If you are nervous about dental treatment, you are not alone. Many patients deal with some level of anxiety during dental visits, and for many, it can impede their oral health. To make it easier for those patients, we are happy to make you more comfortable by using sedation during your dental treatment.

ColdSTX-1

Cold Sore Laser Treatment

Cold sores can be painful and unsightly. We offer laser treatment to help speed up healing and decrease the number and frequency of your cold sores. The best time to start treatment is as soon as you notice that tingly burning feeling. We can also treat canker sores with laser.

wisdom-1.jpg

Impacted Wisdom Tooth Extraction

Extraction of a wisdom tooth or removal of a wisdom tooth from the jaw bone and the adjacent tissues is usually different than extraction or removal of other teeth. This is because most times wisdom teeth are “impacted” or in other words have lost the ability to erupt or come out of the bone into the oral cavity due to lack of space. When these teeth do not have the space they require to come out of the jaw bone into the oral cavity, they start to push or eat away adjacent teeth and get stuck half way causing infection from decay or bacterial accumulation, pain, swelling, cyst formation and damage to adjacent structures. With experience and precise diagnoses, we are able to predict when this is likely to happen and preventively extract these teeth to avoid future complications.

With our compassionate, communicative approach to dental implants, you’ll feel comfortable and confident every step of the way, and the end result will be a strong, healthy smile you can be proud of. Bone Graft

Bone grafting is often closely associated with dental restorations such as bridge work and dental implants. In the majority of cases, the success of a restoration procedure can hinge on the height, depth, and width of the jawbone at the implant site. When the jawbone has receded or sustained significant damage, the implant(s) cannot be supported on this unstable foundation, and bone grafting is usually recommended for the ensuing restoration. Bone grafting is a highly successful procedure in most cases. It is also a preferable alternative to having missing teeth, diseased teeth, or tooth deformities. Bone grafting can increase the height or width of the jawbone and fill in voids and defects in the bone.
